Selling Your Watch To Us
Remove the stress and uncertainty by selling your watch easily and safely to us
Purchasing Watches
When purchasing watches, we look for authenticity, documentation, the watches overall physical and mechanical condition, service schedule (if required) and it’s current market desirability and provenance.
Authenticity and Documentation
Original PapersÂ
The presence of the original box, warranty card, instruction booklet, swing tags, original purchase receipt and certificates of authenticity are a major selling point and a primary indicator of a genuine luxury watch.
Serial Number
We verify that the serial and model numbers on the watch match those on the accompanying documentation.
Physical AppearanceÂ
The watch is examined for scratches, dents, chips and signs of wear. Whilst minor wear is expected, if it is stated as unworn, we would expect to see this under examination. Significant damage or over polishing (which can alter the cases original lines and finish) can reduce the watches value.
Mechanical IntegrityÂ
The watches movement is assessed to ensure that it is in full working order and that it is keeping good time. The watch is checked to the original manufacturers specifications, and that the movement is exactly as it was from the factory. After market materials and parts will affect the price of you’re watch. The watch is checked for dirt, manufacturer’s irregularities and rust etc.
Service History
A documented history of regular servicing and maintenance, ideally from the watch manufacturer or an authorised centre, this indicates that the watch has been well cared for. It’s absence can lead to a lower offer to cover potential future service costs.
Original Parts
Original components(dial, hands, bezel, crown, bracelet etc) are all highly valued. Watches with after market or replacement parts (sometimes called Frankenwatches) are generally less desirable and may have a significantly reduced value.
Market Desirability and ProvenanceÂ
Brand Reputation and Model
Iconic models from prestigious brands(e.g Rolex Submariner, Patek Phillipe Nautilus, Omega Speedmaster) tend to retain or even appreciate in value due to constant high demand.
Rarity and Trends
Limited edition or discontinued models are often highly sought after by collectors. We stay updated with current market trends and fluctuations to determine a fair market value.
Provenance
A watches ownership history can add a significant value, especially if it was once owned by a notable person or associated with a historic event (e.g Paul Newman’s Rolex Daytona).
Re-Sale Potential
We purchase with the intent to re-sell, we assess the watches potential to hold or increase it’s value over time as a potential investment asset.
Expert Verification
Reputable companies employ in-house experts and use advanced techniques to inspect the dial, hands, case, bracelet and movement etc to spot super fakes or counterfeit parts that an untrained eye might miss.
